While the world is currently oohing and aahhing over the Chinese Stealth Fighter, it’s easy to forget that they have another weapon they’ve been working on– one that is likely far more problematic than a fighter that to be honest, probably isn’t even in the league of the F-22.
I’m referring of course to their DF-21 Ballistic Missile.
It’s been around for a while, as this post from the Naval Institute demonstrate:
What makes this interesting is that it’s a concept that shows a very firm understanding of the limits of US power and the importance of the carrier to the US Navy. It doesn’t mean, that China is preparing to go to war, or even thinking of it– but it does show that their military leadership is extremely capable and pragmatic in evaluating threats to the Chinese state, and creating counter measures to them.
